The construction of dams will generate 22 thousand megawatts of electricity, 35 million acre-feet of water will be stored, and 3 rupees per unit will be charged for generating electricity. An international consortium has spent 26 billion dollars to build two dams in Pakistan. has offered an investment of 22 thousand megawatts of electricity and two dams of 35 million acre-feet of water storage will be constructed. The cost of producing electricity from these dams will be three rupees per unit, while the production capacity of these two dams is in Pakistan. The capacity of the Kartzara Dam is double that of all existing dams, while the capacity of the Kartzara Dam is six times more than that of the Kar Kala Bagh Dam. Dr. Muhammad Iqbal Wahla, the creator of the design of the Kahota nuclear power plant in Pakistan and a member of the International Consortium, said this during a media interaction yesterday. Infrastructural projects have been completed, he said that the lack of availability of water in the country Due to Abi, the agricultural sector is having to bear a loss of twelve billion dollars annually.
The construction of these Dukartzara and Bunji dams will eliminate the water shortage, he said that the feasibility of one of the two dams is ready while the feasibility of the other Kartzara dam can be completed in six months to a year. The two dams will be completed in a period of 9 to 10 years, he clarified that during these nine to ten years, Pakistan will also get three to four billion dollars in foreign exchange every year, which will help the country. It will give a big boost to the economy and help in reducing the country's deficits.
Dr. Wahla said that dams will be built on both the banks of the Indus River from where the water begins to enter Pakistan, in addition to the Tarbela Dam, but also the silt and sand coming into all other dams of the country will not accumulate, thus not only Tarbela Dam. Rather, the production capacity and working period of all the dams in the country will also increase. It should be noted that due to the accumulation of silt and sand in the Tarbela Dam, its production has decreased by 50%. As a result, load shedding will be reduced and cleaning costs will also be saved.
Dr. Wahla said that 15 thousand megawatts of electricity and 35 million feet acres of water storage will be obtained from the Kartza dam and 7100 megawatts of electricity from the Bunji dam. He said that the construction of these dams will also increase the country's exports. He said that in the past, the inter-provincial parliamentary commissions formed at the national level, including the commissions of representatives of the four provinces, had approved the construction of these two dams, but this Action was not taken.
