The minimum wage requirement for immigrants applying for a driver's license will increase

Kuwait City, the Gulf country of Kuwait has tightened driving license and inspection rules for foreigners. Salary condition will include increase. According to Arabian Business, the Ministry of Interior's traffic department is reportedly preparing new regulations for expatriates to obtain driver's licenses. The new conditions are aimed at reducing traffic congestion on the roads. After the formation of the new government, the regulations will be submitted to the Home Minister for approval.
Kuwait Times has learned that the new conditions include raising the minimum salary requirement for expatriates to apply for a driver's license, and only certain professions will be allowed to obtain a driver's license. Traffic congestion on the roads is to be reduced, as traffic studies claim that the large number of foreign drivers is the cause.
The Traffic Department has found many loopholes in how these vehicles get technical inspection approval, the participation of the Environment Public Authority in vehicle testing with the Traffic Department, if implemented comprehensively, could prevent registration. Vehicles may be permanently removed from use, otherwise their owners will be subject to traffic fines and insurance.
