On this, the petitioner's counsel said that Rahul Gandhi is a Member of Parliament, so he should be given maximum punishment because if he is given less punishment, it will send a wrong message in the society that legislators get less punishment.

Congress's response
Congress President Malla Arjun Kharge termed the BJP government a dictator and said that Rahul Gandhi is highlighting the dark deeds of the government and therefore the government is afraid of him.

He further said that BJP points its finger at everyone except itself.
