Sharjah, during Ramadan in the United Arab Emirates, Sharjah has announced a special permit to extend working hours. According to Gulf media, Sharjah Municipality has announced that businesses in the emirate will need a special permit to extend their working hours during Ramadan, allowing shops and stores to continue operating after midnight during the holy month. Organizations need to apply for this permit, the permit can be applied for online at the Sharjah Municipality website.
It has been reported that engineering contractors will not be allowed to obtain this permit to work after midnight, while the Sharjah Municipality has also issued a list of establishments that are exempt from this rule, including restaurants, bakeries, etc. And cafeterias can extend operating hours beyond midnight without this permit.
Similarly, there are two permits that apply to eateries, one of which is to display food during the day and display in food places, including inside shopping centers, is prohibited. The fee for the permit is 3,000 dirhams while the second permit is for displaying food items in front of eateries just before Iftar, the fee for this permit is 500 dirhams.

It is stated that owners or managers of food establishments can apply for a permit at the Food Control Section counter of Sharjah Municipality in Suburban Affairs Department, Industrial Area 5, while the municipality may display food during the holy month.
