According to Al Arabiya News, Polish pilot and aerobatic Luke Zepila surprised people by doing the first landing in history on the 27-meter wide helipad of the Burj Al Arab Hotel in Dubai, in a video shared on social media. The plane was seen approaching and landing on the helipad located on the 56th floor of Burj Al Arab at an altitude of 212 meters.
The Dubai Media Office also published images of the flight and landing, saying Zeppella had practiced landings more than 650 times before landing, after which they demonstrated the plane landing on the Burj Al Arab helipad.
It is reported that the Polish pilots had been preparing for the stunt for two years because landing at an altitude of 200 meters was a very difficult task, with no clear boundaries at the helipad, so there was a lot of space on the ground. Totally different from landing.
Luke Zappella, 39, said: "I had complete confidence in my abilities but there was no room for error on the helipad. My biggest passion is aerobatics. I have flown under bridges and landed on gorges but landing on the Burj Al Arab. Completely different and extremely difficult, the aircraft used in this stunt was made by Cub Crafters, an American manufacturer known for its light aircraft. The span is 10.44 m.
