Google's parent company Alphabet's chief executive (CEO) Sundar Pichai's annual income has grown to a surprising extent.
Regulatory filings submitted to the US government revealed that Sundar Pichai's annual salary is only $2 million, but his income in 2022 was $226 million.
Sundar Pichai received $21.8 million in shares from Alphabet in 2022 and the rest in other incentives.
Along with this, the company also spent 6 million dollars on Sundar Pichai's security in 2022.
Surprisingly, the 50-year-old Sundar Pichai was given only $6.3 million in 2021, meaning a significant increase in income in one year.
His income is much higher than other office bearers of Alphabet.
Sundar Pichai's income has been disclosed after Alphabet laid off 12,000 employees some time ago citing economic difficulties.
On this occasion, Sundar Pichai said in an email that he takes full responsibility for the decisions that led to the current bad situation.
