According to the American newspaper Washington Post, the US Department of Justice is investigating whether the money was transferred from Egypt to Trump or not.

According to the newspaper, the foreign funding investigation was halted in 2019 over the objection of Trump's attorney general, and in June 2020, the prosecutor closed the case due to insufficient evidence.


The newspaper says that Donald Trump met with the Egyptian president in New York on September 19, 2016. On the same day, 10 million dollars was withdrawn from the official National Bank of Egypt, which raised suspicions that the money was transferred to Trump.
