Artificial intelligence gets expensive, editor fired for publishing fake Michael Schumacher interview

The editor of a German magazine has been fired for publishing a fake interview with seven-time Formula One champion Michael Schumacher.

An apology issued by the German magazine stated that the magazine's editor Anne Hoffmann had been fired for publishing a fake interview with Michael Schumacher created by artificial intelligence. He was working as an editor for a magazine.

On April 15, the German magazine featured a smiling photo of 54-year-old Formula One racer Michael Schumacher on the front page with the headline "Michael Schumacher's first interview" and the subheading "True to the point of falsehood," while on page 8 of the magazine, " published a mock interview titled "My Life Completely Changed".

The mock interview included Michael Schumacher discussing his family, personal life, accident, and health, but at the end of the interview it was written that the interview was created by artificial intelligence.

Michael Schumacher's family announced legal action against a German magazine for publishing a fake interview with the internationally famous Formula One racer, after which the organization apologized and fired the editor.
The managing director of the German magazine issued a statement saying that this offensive and misleading article should never have been published, as it was against not only journalistic values but also the readers' expectations of our institution.

It should be noted that the former champion has never appeared in public after suffering brain injuries in an accident in 2013, but his family has been keeping abreast of Schumacher's health, respecting his privacy.
