If you share your streaming service Netflix account password with friends or relatives, the bad news is that the company has started a worldwide crackdown against it.

Netflix began cracking down on password-sharing users in Canada, New Zealand, Portugal, and Spain in February 2023.

Now the company will charge an additional fee to users who share passwords with friends or relatives in more than 100 countries, including the US.

For this, the company will warn users in 103 countries and territories through a notification not to share their accounts for free with people outside the home. This notification will say that a Netflix account can only be used by One can be used at home and users can give access to their account to someone outside the home by paying an additional fee.

This fee will be different in each country, in the US $8 per month will be charged as an additional fee.

It should be noted that measures against password sharing were being tested in a few Latin American countries since last year. The crackdown started in a few countries in February and now its scope has been spread around the world.
