President Biden expects Iran to refrain from retaliation after the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh

 US President Joe Biden has expressed his expectation that Iran will not retaliate for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh.

 

Responding to a question asked during a conversation with journalists in New Orleans, the US president said that he hoped Iran would not retaliate for the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh after the Gaza ceasefire.

He said that negotiations regarding the ceasefire are becoming difficult, but he will not give up on it.

On the other hand, the spokesperson of the US State Department, Vedant Patel, has also said that the release of the hostages and the Gaza ceasefire agreement will create such an environment that the region can get out of the cycle of violence.

According to the Israeli media, the Iranian government is engaged in dialogue with the Western countries and the United States about the nature of the retaliation.

   

It should be noted that US Secretary of State Antony Blanken is busy trying to reduce the tension so that nothing happens.

A US State Department spokesman said that Antony Blanken has been in telephone contact for the past several weeks to send a clear message that a ceasefire is imminent.

At the same time, the US Secretary of State has approved the sale of military equipment worth 20 billion dollars to Israel.
