The president of Columbia University resigned following a student protest regarding Israel.

 Columbia University president Manouche Shafiq, who stopped student protests against Israel, resigned from his position.

   

According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, in April, Manouche allowed New York police to enter the campus to stop student protests against Israel at an Ivy League university. According to the report, about 100 students were arrested for the anti-Israel demonstration at the university, which was the largest arrest at Columbia University after 5 decades.

According to the British Broadcasting Corporation, protests started in dozens of colleges in the United States and Canada due to this move, after which the President of Columbia University, Menoushe Shafiq, resigned from his position.
