Foreigners will not be able to keep more than one vehicle. Serious violations will be fined up to 5,000 Kuwaiti dinars
Kuwait's Ministry of Interior has decided to introduce several changes to traffic regulations, including heavy fines for traffic violations and restrictions on vehicle ownership for foreigners.
According to reports, an official of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Interior, Assistant Undersecretary for Traffic Affairs and Operations, Major General Youf Al-Khuda, told the media that in the new law, foreigners are allowed to have only one vehicle, currently 25 million vehicles are registered in Kuwait. The ban is part of an initiative to reduce traffic congestion and improve road safety in the country.
The minimum fine in the new law will be 15 Kuwaiti dinars for parking in a restricted area and up to 5,000 Kuwaiti dinars for serious violations.
