According to sources, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has consulted PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman on the supervisory setup.

Sources say that the caretaker prime minister will be discussed with the opposition leader after talking to the heads of all other coalition parties.

Defense Minister Khawaja Asif says that caretaker prime minister will be agreed by all political parties.

Apart from this, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that PML-N did not name Ishaq Dar as the caretaker prime minister. It is suggested that a technocrat or a retired judge should not be the caretaker prime minister. However, later Defense Minister Khawaja Asif said that whoever suggested making Ishaq Dar caretaker prime minister did not speak properly.

 Khawaja Asif said that no person close to the political leadership should be made caretaker prime minister, every possible effort should be made to make the election impartial.
