The Supreme Court of India suspended Rahul Gandhi's defamation sentence in an interim order.

According to Indian media reports, the defamation case against Rahul Gandhi, leader of the Indian opposition party Congress, was heard in the Supreme Court.

The Supreme Court suspended Rahul Gandhi's defamation sentence after the trial court judge did not give any reason for imposing the maximum sentence.According to the report, after the suspension of the sentence, Rahul Gandhi's parliamentary membership will be restored and he will be able to contest next year's elections.

It should be remembered that the trial court of Gujarat had sentenced Rahul Gandhi to 2 years imprisonment in the defamation case.
