February 26, 2023) A convoy of 21 trucks carrying 275 tons of relief goods from Pakistan arrived in Malatya, one of the cities most affected by the earthquake in Turkey, on Saturday afternoon. A convoy of trucks carrying mostly winter tents, blankets and other essential relief supplies left Pakistan on February 11 and reached Turkey via Iran.

The convoy was received by Deputy Mayor Malataya Hakan Ezgi, Diplomat of Foreign Ministry of Turkey Fazli Korman, Deputy Ambassador of Pakistan Embassy Abbas Sarwar Qureshi, Commander Mehmet Bakhtiar and officials of AFAD and local administration. Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif directed. But on February 6, an airlift was immediately established between Islamabad and Ankara for the transport of rescue teams and the delivery of essential relief supplies.

So far 20 flights have brought relief supplies to Turkey. A ship carrying earthquake relief supplies is also going to leave Pakistan for Turkey soon. Speaking on the occasion, the Deputy Ambassador of the Pakistani Embassy, Abbas Sarwar Qureshi, said that Pakistan and Turkey are always with each other. Has a wonderful history of support. He further said that according to the wishes of the Prime Minister and the people of Pakistan, relief aid will continue to come from Pakistan to the brotherly country of Turkey until complete recovery and rehabilitation.
